William Nichols

William Donald “Don” Nichols, 89, of Nashport, died at his home, Tuesday morning, June 3, 2025.
Born May 4, 1936, in Zanesville, Ohio he was a son of the late William M. and Orpha (Duskey) Nichols and a 1955 graduate of Jefferson High School. Don retired after 41 years of service at Armco-Cyclops-Coshocton Stainless. He was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Marilyn (Mattingly) Nichols, who he married April 7, 1956; four children, Mike (Cathy) Nichols of Dresden, Mark (Mitzi) Nichols of Dresden, Lisa (Tony) Anders of Zanesville, and Marsha Nichols of Nashport; seven grandchildren, Sara, Michael, Megan, Amanda, Teddy, Kimberly and Abby; fourteen great grandchildren, Kylee, Ali, Colt, Cayden, Aaron, Brynleigh, Josephine, Hadlie, Wyatt, Lily, Aaden, Everly, Raelynn, Riley and two more on the way; very special niece, Sherrie (Keith) Grubb; and nephew, Sam (Luann) Sheets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Nichols; two sisters, Emma Jean Sheets and Alice Lester; a son in law, Gary Wilson.

Family and friends may visit 11:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm, Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton.
Don will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
