Jill Pratt

Jill Kathleen Pratt, 83, of Zanesville passed at 8:50 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her home.

She was born on Friday, August 22, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Herbert K. Jackson and Maxine D. Sorrell Jackson.

Jill was an avid learner, an inspiring mentor and educator. She earned her Master’s in Education and taught for the Tri-Valley school district for 35 years. She was an educator for generations of students who continue to share the beloved memories of the positive impacts she made on many, many lives. Her love for her students and passion for teaching can be summed up in the following quote,

“The influence of a great teacher can never be erased”. -Unknown

In addition to education, Jill also loved to travel all over the world. One of her favorite trips was going to Alaska and catching King Salmon. She also loved being in her beautiful home, tending to her amazing flowers and feeding the koi in her fishpond.

She is survived by her three children, Julie L. (Travis) Sterling, David B. (Elizabeth) Tharp and Jeffrey Tharp; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Taylor) Roberts, Benjamin (Lyndsee) Baldwin, Mia Sterling, Zoe Tharp, Zane Tharp and Maxwell Tharp; three great grandchildren, Piper, Colbie and Tucker Roberts; her twin brother, Jay (Pam) Jackson; nephews, Scott (Barb) Jackson and Nick Jackson; her beloved canine companion, Pickles.

In addition to her parents, Jill was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Pratt.

A private graveside service and burial will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park.
