ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Art can be any form of human expression that communicates an appreciation of creativity.

Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival Student Arts Committee Chair Member Stephanie Bridwell announced the 55th annual festival along with details about the student art contest that will be held in conjunction.

“One of our big features is the Student Art Tent,” Bridwell said. “We are collecting art through the middle of July. So we’re… we’ve had a number… We’ve had 15 schools submit so far. But we’re still looking for a few more pieces, if people are interested. And we feature artwork from students K-through-12 and if there’s a college student who’d like to show off their work, we’d love to have them as well.”

Awards will be distributed according to grade level, with scholarships being available for the older students. Those wishing to have their work displayed in the contest can find more information as well as an entry form on the Salt Fork Festival’s webpage

“We ask individuals who want to enter to contact me and through our… either our email, which is saltforkfestivalcontact@gmail or through our Facebook page and we’ll arrange to do a pickup. We’ve been pretty good about getting everybody in Muskingum and Guernsey County and our goal is to have everything picked up by July 15th,” Bridwell said.

The Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival will take place August 8th, 9th, and 10th, at the Cambridge City Park. Beyond the paintings and sculptures, it will feature a full lineup of entertainment, including live stage acts and an even wider range of live music.
