Zane State College Welcomes New Students with a Convocation

Zane State College welcomes new students with a special ceremony today.
87- new students were officially welcomed to Zane State College at convocation this morning. The ceremony’s purpose is to help launch student’s careers. Also while attending the event students take a pledge to be successful and learn about the life at Zane State College.
“It’s a pretty common thing in most colleges and universities to really introduce new students. Most of us kind of have a preconceived idea when we start in higher education about what it’s going to be like but, this is really an opportunity to kind of get that first true on campus cultural experience,” Dr. Chad Brown.
The ceremony took place at Zane State in the campus center conference room. We talked to some students about beginning their collegiate journey
“I just want to learn as much as I can, to get a better knowledge of everything so I can help people once I get out of school,” said John Giancarlorofino
“The opportunities that come with it probably. It’s a great campus and it’s a small campus, you have smaller classes where your teachers can spend more one-on-one time with you so that’s really nice. I feel like there is a better opportunity for learning,” said Morgan Miller.
Classes start back up for all new and returning students on Monday.
