3rd Annual ‘Freedom Run’ Fundraiser

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As we roll further into June, many people start making plans for their Fourth of July celebration.

One upcoming event is Muskingum Behavioral Health’s 3rd annual Freedom Run, where participants can move their bodies, lift their spirits and help others do the same.

“We are having our 3rd Annual July Fourth Freedom Run at OUZ Collegial Trail and Rogge Pavilion on July 4th,” Muskingum Behavioral Health CEO Yolanda Taylor said. “Registration starts that morning at 7 a.m. and their 5K race and 1 mile walk will begin at 9 a.m. Preregistration for the race you will receive a T-shirt plus you get a swag bag full of kinds of goodies from local sponsors in the bag.”

Registration is $35 and the deadline for receiving the t-shirt is June 16th. All proceeds will benefit Muskingum Behavioral Health’s counselling, recovery service, and prevention programs.

“Exercise is one of the most proven mood boosters we have,” Taylor said. “30 minutes of outdoor movement can lower stress hormones and boost mood. Spending time in greenspaces improves attention and memory up to 20 percent after a single 5-minute walk.”

Taylor noted that sponsors and volunteers can bring encouragement by just showing up. Participants can sign up by clicking here.
