Meet This Week’s Pets of the Week: Molly & Henry
ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week the Animal Shelter Society is shining a light on a mother son duo.
Meet Molly and Henry! Molly is 7-years-old and Henry is 5-years-old and they are a very bonded pair. They’re both beagle, dachshund mixes who are spayed and neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, and are searching for their forever home once again.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Shelter, said Henry is actually the reason why there is a no bag policy on the animal floors.
“They were adopted out, he was just a small pup, a mother and daughter team came in here and stole him, actually,” Gibson said. “With the swift justice system we do have here in Muskingum County, they were caught. But he’s the reason there’s no bags permitted on the floor because people could just snatch them up. He was only about 5 or 6 pounds, he wasn’t very big.”
Gibson says due to a death in their family, Molly and Henry were surrendered back to the shelter and must be adopted together. They do well with each other as well as with other dogs but they may not be the best in a family with children under 10. Gibson also wanted to extend a thank you to Spectrum for a recent donation they made to the Shelter.
“Spectrum had us over last week, we were their chosen non-profit, that means a lot,” Gibson said. “That means they believe in our mission, they’re just great folks to deal with, and they donated funds for our day to day operations and we’re just really pleased with them, we’re very thankful. They were awarded our Paw-sitive Partnership, we have about 20 of those out now, we’re very particular on who those go out to, we started doing that recognizing the community about 4 years ago. ”
Gibson also provided an update on Bellatrix, she is recovering well and her physical therapy is going amazing.
The shelter will be closed this Saturday, June 14th, for the Zane’s Trace Commemoration Parade.
