Twenty-Fifth Annual City-Wide Singspiration

Members of the community were invited to a special event in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The 25th Annual City-Wide Singspiration was held in the John McIntire Library Auditorium earlier today and there were nearly 100 people in attendance. John McIntire Library, Assistant Director, Blair Tom said the library is delighted to host the event.
“What this event does annually is bring the community together in the auditorium to enjoy the combined voices of the Singspiration Choir and then a message which is delivered this year by Rev. Robert Palmer,” said Tom.
Singspiration is made up of a combination of different choirs from five local congregations in Zanesville. Tom said that’s a part of what makes this celebration so special because it brings the entire community together.
“We can reflect together we can think about the message together and we can share music together. This year in particular we’re noting a lot more youth in the audience and so that is really encouraging and exciting,” said Tom.
The 21st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Prayer Breakfast is Monday at the North Terrace Church of Christ on Brandywine Blvd and begins at 9a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Northside Terrace’s Food Pantry and Christ’s Table.
