ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Also in attendance at the Dr. King Prayer Breakfast is State Representative Brian Hill of Zanesville.

Hill said he’s currently working on a number of projects at the state house in Columbus like the capital bill and state unemployment tax.

“There will be several things dealing with budgets, the capital budget is a big thing that we are watching for and the state unemployment tax is another big issue we’re trying to drive home and finish up here. So we don’t get into the same debacle that we did from 2008,” said Hill.

In addition to those bills Hill said he is working on a bill geared toward farmers

“One of the things I’m concentrating on is the CAUV, which is the ag land value of taxation. Many of our farmers have seen 292 increase of taxes on land which is their business tax. We’re trying to work on that. It’s made some significant spikes in the last 7-8 years. It’s past time to do something about that,” said Hill.

Hill said these issues will be voted on this spring.
