Delbert C. “Big Del” LeMond, 69, of Walhonding, passed away Saturday (June 14, 2025) while riding his motorcycle.

He was born April 10, 1956 in Cleveland, son of the late Genevieve Dupont Bailey and Dave LeMond Sr.

Delbert was a 1974 graduate of Meadowbrook High School and of the GNVS HVAC program. Delbert was a retired long distance truck driver. His passion was motorcycles and anything with wheels. He enjoyed going to motorcycle events and attended Sturgis as well as Daytona Bike Week many times. He also enjoyed camping, boating, hunting, and his little rat terrier dogs over the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mike Bailey.

He leaves behind three brothers, David (Cathy) LeMond of Heath, Dennis (Ann) LeMond of Senecaville, and Michael Bailey of Cambridge; six nieces and nephews: Heath Bailey of El Paso TX, Heather Tabler of Cambridge, David LeMond of Cleveland, Jason LeMond of Walhonding, Joseph Gates of Canal Winchester, and Mindy Cline of New Albany; and many friends, including his lifetime buddies: Dennis Pilck of Walhonding and Blaine Barr of Byesville.

A remembrance of Delbert will be held Saturday (June 21, 2025) from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey’s Café in Walhonding. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following organizations in Delbert’s honor: 1) Western Reserve Land Conservancy; 2) Ducks Unlimited; or 3) Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
