Nineteen local business owners battled it out tonight for the chance to win an $8,000 cash prize to invest in their company.

The Muskingum County Business Incubator held their 2nd Annual Shark Tub event which is a spin off of the TV show, Shark Tank. Several local entrepreneurs came out to have fun while investing play money in the different companies down the investment hall as the businesses showcased their ideas. The top three with the most invested went before the sharks and pitched their business plan. Tonight’s winner was owner of Storied Rivals Sports Media, Aaron Spragg.

“As an entrepreneur you put in a lot of time, work and long hours. To be honest it’s not a lot of awards a lot of the time. You know you’re grinding, your grinding so it’s nice once in a while to have a chance to win an award and get recognized. This is one of those times you pat yourself on the back and get back to work tomorrow. But, it’s definitely good to be recognized,” said Spragg.

Each entrepreneur had 3 minutes and 30 seconds to make their pitch to the sharks. Spragg said that was the most difficult part.

“Getting the pitch together in 3 1/2 minutes was definitely the toughest part. It’s my business so I like to talk so much about it. It’s hard to pin point what to say and what would stick with them as far as what’s important for them to hear,” said Spragg.

Spragg said he plans to invest the $8,000 in his company’s day-to-day operations.
