Arrests made in Connection with Heroin Trafficking in Athens County

The Athens Prosecutor’s Office said four people have been arrested following an investigation into heroin trafficking involving guests at the Sunset Motel on Columbus Rd. in Athens. 

The investigation began in early Jan. 2016. Suspects rented a room at the motel from Jan. 6 through Jan. 22.  After a short break they checked into the Hometown Inn on State Rt. 50 in Athens for four nights. 

The Prosecutor’s Secret Service executed three search warrants. They were assisted by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office on search warrants in Chauncey and MIllfield, and by the Athens Police Department on a search warrant at the Carriage Hill Apartments. 

Patricia Eblin,Courtney Meadows,  Cindy Glover, and Mike Meadows were all arrested in connection to the investigation. 

Courtney Meadows and Cindy Glover are  being charged with Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity, Conspiracy to Trafficking in Heroin, Conspiracy to Engaging in a Pattern of Corupt Activity, and Tampering with Evidence. 

Eblin, Courtney Meadows, and Cindy Glover are being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional jail. 

Mike Meadows was arrested but required medical attention and was trasported to the OhioHealth O’Blesness Hospital.
