Congressman Bill Johnson Supports Small Business in Muskingum County

U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson visited the Muskingum County Business Incubator Monday.

The Congressman represents eastern and southeastern region of Ohio and said one thing he continues to fight for is job and business growth in the area and he’s proud to see a program like MCBI helping small business owners get off the ground in the local community.

"Having an entity like this makes it a lot easier and so there’s comfort in numbers so if you’ve got folks that have done it before you get a lot of advice that way and you get off to a much better start so it’s pretty exciting," said Johnson.

Johnson said that while MCBI works locally to help entrepreneurs he’ll be fighting for them in Washington.

"What we want to do is create an environment where America’s innovative engine kicks into high gear because the strength of our country is not in Washington," said Johnson. "The strength of our country is in the indomitable spirit and heartbeat of the American people. That’s where all the good ideas come from. "

Johnson plans to push for tax reform so small businesses can keep more of what they earn.
