Snow and Ice Removal Products

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The winter weather normally includes a trip to the store to buy snow and ice fighting products.

The Do It Center on the East Pike said they are stocked with all the things you will need to battle the wicked weather.

“We have ice melter which is easy on concrete. Easy on your pets and easy on your yard. We have rock salt which is just pain old salt. Good on your driveway. If you have a gravel driveway it’s good on that. It will work on your sidewalks. It’s not recommended on concrete. We have liquid snow shovel. Which is a liquid that you spray on. You can apply it before or after the snow fall. They recommend you put it on when you know it’s going to snow,” said Do It Center Sales Associate Dayle Bailey.

Bailey offers tips on how to keep moisture away from your rock salt.

“Once you’ve opened the bag you really need another container to put it in that air tight. A 5 gallon bucket or an old print bucket. Even a trash can with a lid on it. Something that you put the salt in and water won’t get in it” said Bailey.

Bailey said the proper way to use the rock salt is to first remove as much of the snow and the ice as you can and then spread the salt on top.
