‘Tis the Season for Fireworks
DUNCAN FALLS, Ohio – The Duncan Falls-Philo Business Association will be holding their 5th annual Star Spangled Celebration this Friday at the greenspace next to Sam Hatfield Stadium.
The family friendly, community event offers plenty of fun, food and games in a festive atmosphere, with proceeds from the dunk tank going toward the Natalie Martin Scholarship.
“So we have a great fireworks show down here in Duncan Falls,” Duncan Falls-Philo Business Association President Laken Ault said. “It is this Friday June 27th. We start at five, the event starts at five and we go, what we like to call dark 30… So, about 9:45-10:00 the fireworks will let off. We’ve got food trucks, we’ve got games for the kids, our dunk tank, just a lot of fun and we look forward to it every year. This is our 5th year, so…”
Duncan Falls-Philo Business Association Secretary Katie Imlay asked attendees to skip the hassle of debit cards and bring cash. Because many of the games including their wildly popular Bingo are cash only. And that money will stay in the community to reinvest in the community.
“This is a small community,” Imlay said. “Family means everything to everyone here and we are a family, this community is a family. And this event just emulates what this community between Duncan Falls and Philo, we’re sister cities down here, sister villages and we work together and the business association works hard for the growth of not just our businesses but our communities.”
Imlay stressed that the event wouldn’t be as strong as it is without the support of the Duncan Falls-Philo Business Association members along with the participation of the community’s first responders and civic organizations.
