ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Congressman Bill Johnson made two stops in Zanesville Tuesday.

The lawmaker first stopped by the chamber of commerce. He then spoke to the Zanesville Noon Rotary Club. Johnson shared his thoughts on the 2016 presidential race and which candidate has his support.

“I’m strong supporter of our governor right now. I think he is the one on the platform that has demonstrated by a proven track record, he has the credentials to do the job. He has balanced the budget at the federal level. And at the state level he turned an $8 billion deficit into a $2 billion surplus and he did that while cutting taxes by $5 billion,” said Johnson.

Johnson spoke about the latest developments in Washington D.C.

“We’ve got legislation that’s moving through the senate now, that will open up our country to liquid natural gas exports and expedite that process. That’s a real big job creator in our region. Just last December we passed legislation that the president signed into law that removed the 40 year ban on crude oil exports.” said Johnson.

Johnson said that legislation will give our producers an opportunity to sell their products on the global market.
