Muskies Down DeSales, Make First State Tournament
The John Glenn Muskies were out to make history from the opening tip of the regional final.
Greg Woodard’s squad never trailed and blasted DeSales, 70-50, to advance to the state tournament for the first time in program history.
Drew Rackley led all scorers with a game-high 31 points, and fellow senior Matt Weir chipped in 15. Sophomore Jah Blevins added 12.
John Glenn started the game on a 16-6 run and held a comfortable lead at the half, 35-23. The Fish increased their advantage to 17 points after three quarters before coasting to a 20-point victory.
The Muskies’ state semifinal opponent is Bay Village Bay, which bested Ottawa-Glandorf, 76-65. Both teams are making inaugural appearances in the state tournament.
Tip-off is slated for Thursday at 8:30 p.m. The radio broadcast will be carried on Z92.
