Sharon Adkins-Gildow

Sharon A. Adkins-Gildow, 74 of New Lexington, passed away on Wednesday July 2, 2025, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
She was born on April 3, 1951, in Dover, Ohio, daughter of the late Clyde Tufford and Juanna Davies. She attended Indian Valley South High School, where she qualified for the Olympics in track. Sharon worked at Arrowhead Clinic in Newcomerstown for several years and later at Longaberger Co. for over 20 years, where she retired. She loved watching dirt track racing, where she rooted for Devin Moran, Scott Bloomquist, and her son, David. She was known as the best brownie maker by all of her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and camping. Above all, she loved spending her time with her family and loved ones.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Walter Gildow; son, David Adkins; 2 step-sons: Dwight (Lauren) Gildow, Kevin Gildow; grandchildren, Erika (Ryan Ruble) Adkins, Ciera Adkins, Briana Adkins, Liam (Christine) Curry, Alex Gildow, Braxton Gildow; great grandchildren, Arieanna, Vinnie, Adalynn, Davina; brother, Larry Tufford; sister, Julie (Ray) Gardner; niece, Danielle Gardner; special cousin, Kathy (Denny) Stoney; sister in laws, Teresa Temple, Lisa (Dale) Robison; several cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Tufford; 2 sisters: Karen Ross and Sheila Tufford; special dog, Chloe.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home and on Thursday July 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, where services will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude services at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
