I-70 Eastbound Ramp from State Street Closing July 14
ZANESVILLE, OH – Zanesville’s growing its collection of orange barrels again, this time along I-70 eastbound. A new ramp closure is about to begin.
Starting Monday, July 14th, the Ohio Department of Transportation will close the eastbound on-ramp to I-70 from State Street. Crews will be doing bridge work, and the closure is expected to last about four weeks.
“The bridge is going to be closed for approximately four weeks for bridge painting operations. That allows us to set up things such as scaffolding as well as the painting operations themselves,” ODOT District 5 Public Information Officer Chas Cosgrave said.
The Underwood Street ramp will stay open for drivers needing eastbound access. And beginning Monday, July 28th, through Friday, August 15th, you’ll also see nightly lane closures on eastbound I-70 from 8 PM to 6 AM.
“One of the biggest things is to slow down, move over, and pay attention. We know that things are changing and it’s very dynamic through the work zone in Zanesville. So, plan ahead, plan for delays, and pay attention,” Cosgrave said.
