ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Animal Shelter Society receives a donation from a local retirement community valued at more than $300.
Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville has been collecting donations for the animal shelter for a month. And Friday presented animal shelter’s executive director Jody Murray with their donation.
“This is wonderful. When I walk in the door I was actually like really kind of overwhelmed to see how many things that were here. This is the second time in the last couple years that Primrose has done with for us with their residents. We love to be involved with the community and the business here in town. This is great for the all the dogs and cats we have at the shelter. Thank you Primrose,” said animal shelter executive director Jody Murray.
One unique thing about this donation is Primrose housekeeper Mindy Chappelear who said she saved money to donate through extreme couponing.
“I’m a huge animal lover. I just want to help out the animal shelter as much as I can,” said Chapperlear.
“We were able to get all we these things to donate to the animal shelter. And we are just so excited and so proud of our staff and residents,” said Primrose sales director Cindy Clark.
Clark said she hopes to make this an annual event.
