American Pride Offers Lawn Care Tips as Spring Arrives

Spring has officially sprung and with the new season, comes the responsibility to maintain your lawn.

President of American Pride Ryan Dodson said the first step to a good looking yard is good working equipment, and now’s the time to be sure yours is working properly.

"Basically that entails things like changing the oil and oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs," said Dodson. "That’ll help your equipment more efficiently and prevent costly breakdowns. "

Spring showers can cause a delay in your yard work but Dodson recommends waiting out the rain before cutting the grass. He said your mower will thank you.

"Ideally you wait until it’s dry because the grass will clog up under the deck and it’ll take more time to clean out plus the grass will clump in the yard and then you have to rake or go over it again so ideally you wait for the dry conditions even if it gets a little ahead of you because it’s a lot easier to mulch up or collect, either one," said Dodson.
