New Concord Hosting A Celebration For John Glenn Muskies On Wednesday

The block party will be starting at 4:30 p.m. on Main Street in New Concord. The event will run up until 6 p.m. when the parade starts and it will feature local clubs and businesses providing food, refreshments, and entertainment for the kids.

There will also be a live performance by the band Doublecut in the school park during this event.

Charlotte Colley, New Concord Village Administrator said that this will be a very exciting event.

After the parade, a pep rally will be taking place at 7 p.m. at John Glenn high school to end the night.

Colley said that this event is important to the community, especially for all of the life long fans that have been supporting John Glenn throughout the good and bad years.

“I think that this win is not only a win for the school, but is a win for the community. It brings the community together, these are the types of events that you look forward to and don’t happen very often. For something this big to happen in such a small place is amazing,” said Colley.

Colley also mentioned that Main Street parking will be very limited on Wednesday so she advises people to arrive early and to park on the side streets to avoid traffic.
