ZANESVILLE, Ohio- An update on the future of the Good Samaritan Hospital building.

There’s been plenty of activity going on at the former hospital as crews are currently working to get rid of the asbestos.

“We’ve got a few companies basically preparing to get the building ready for demolition. Demolition will probably take place later this summer. So they’ll see some people in there moving stuff and taking stuff out. And that’s all in preparation for the demolition. We do have a date for the celebration and that will take place on June 12th. It’s just going to be a great time to celebrate the history of Good Samaritan and the history of the franciscan sisters who have a great legacy here. And that legacy continues now at the Genesis Hospital,” said Genesis Marketing and Media Relations Manager Holly Voltz.

Voltz said she will release more information regarding the celebration as they get closer to the June 12th date.
