Veterans Appreciation Weekend Continues at the Barn

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Veterans Appreciation weekend continues down at the Barn starting bright and early.
On Saturday from 8AM to 10AM, the Barn will be hosting a veterans breakfast as well as some raffles and giveaways.
Wayne Clark, the President of the Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation, says there will also be some check presentations to Honor Flight that will be taking place at the Barn.
“We have a couple, 3 big check presentations to Beth Johnson from Honor Flight Columbus to pay for all of our veterans that go on the Honor Flight.” Clark said. “We have 21 veterans going this fall and we’re going to pay for all of them, which we’ve done for 10 years now. We’ve paid for any veteran from Muskingum County that goes on the Honor Flight, which is quite an honor to do that.”
Clark says from noon to 8PM the Barn will also have about 60 items up at their silent auction as well as performances from 3 different bands throughout the day.
He says the love for Muskingum County’s veterans continues into Sunday with their Golf Outing at Green Valley Golf Course starting at 9AM.
“In addition to that, we’re having a wonderful event.” Clark said. “We’re having a dedication of a monument at Green Valley by our veterans wall we built. It’s dedicated to a young man named Ronny Marshall who died in Vietnam fighting for his country and he was a confirmed sniper with 77 confirmed kills, so he was a national hero. He was the 5th rated sniper in all of Vietnam.”
The monument dedication ceremony will take place at 9AM during the Golf Outing.
