ZAAP Artist of the Month: Dottie Sterzinar

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project’s featured artist of the month is Dottie Sterzinar.
She has been a ZAAP member since 2006 and always had an interest in the arts since she was a child. Her December show features oil paintings of fruit, flowers, and animals. ZAAP member Chole Fritz shares how the art makes her feel.
“I feel like she really takes the time to study her subjects before she paints,” Fritz said. “If I’m looking at a portrait of a person, I think I get to know a little bit about the person and even the fruit. It has a lot of interesting details. It’s not just a regular still life.”
And just in time for the holidays ZAAP is offering a special.
“This first Friday we’re having a special for December. The majority of the pieces are $50. 25 goes to the artist. 25 goes to ZAAP. It’s a nice fundraiser. So if you want to come out on Friday and pick up some nice Christmas presents that’s great,” Fritz said.
The monthly art walk is Friday evening in downtown Zanesville.
