Muskies shoot past Blue Streaks in OAC opener

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Jarrell Marsh and Tri-Valley grad Marcus Dempsey each scored 22 points as Muskingum (5-0, 1-0) upended defending OAC champ John Carroll (1-4, 0-1) at the Anne C. Steele Center on Saturday, 99-95.

The win catapulted the Muskies to their first 5-0 start since the 1972-73 season.

Devon Peart scored 19 points off the bench and Licking Valley product Rickey Wilson chipped in 15 for the Fish.

Dempsey’s outing marks a new career-high, besting a 21-point outing against Washington & Jefferson on Nov. 26.

Muskingum continues conference play at Capital (4-3, 0-1) Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
