Man arrested for drug trafficking activities

Anthony Foster

NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio- The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says a Somerset man has been arrested for drug trafficking activities.

Sheriff William Barker with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office said 36-year-old Anthony B. Foster is alleged to have supplied both methamphetamine and heroin to Somerset and New Lexington as well as others in Perry County.

The Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Somerset Police Department to conduct an investigation that led to the arrest.

Foster was incarcerated at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville.

Sheriff Barker said Foster allegedly received his supply of drugs from the Columbus area and transported those drugs back to Perry County for distribution.

Three others have also been indicted for conspiring with Foster. If convicted on all counts, Foster could face up to 42 years in prison.

The incident is still under investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
