Meet this Week’s Dogs of the Week; Cade & Cole
ZANESVILLE, OH – This week it’s not just one dog of the week, it’s two.
Meet Cade and Cole! Cade is the pup with the darker fur while Cole’s fur is lighter.
These 2-year-old husky mixes are litter mates and do well with one another as well as with kids and other dogs.
Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at K-9 Adoption Center, said they aren’t your typical bonded pair, so if they are adopted into separate families they will be perfectly fine without the other.
“[They] walk very well on a leash, loves to be out in the play yard, loves to drink a lot of water,” McQuaid said. “Seem to do well with kids and everyone they come into contact with and another great thing is that they both seem to keep a very clean kennel. So they don’t necessarily need to be adopted together but we’re just trying to show you how well they do together, so that would be an option if that’s something you’re thinking about.”
McQuaid also said if you’ve been thinking about becoming a volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center then now is the perfect time.
He said volunteers are able to work with each animal to help them not only get comfortable at the Center, but the volunteers also learn how each dog behaves.
He said that’s valuable information that can be passed on to potential adopters.
“Especially like when you get bigger dogs in like this that require a lot of walking and so forth, volunteers are always a necessity,” McQuaid said. “Volunteers help out so much finding out so many different things about the dogs that come in and we make the comment that always we have dogs that come in as strays, we know nothing about [them], so for us to be able to talk to the public and actually be able to give information about the dogs that come in, it’s very important.”
