Job seekers pack the Colony Square Mall for local job fair

ZANESVILLE, OH- Dozens of job seekers lined up early this afternoon at the Colony Square Mall, eager to meet employers face-to-face at the Ohio Means Jobs Job Fair.
The event ran from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and featured 45 employers from a variety of industries. This marks the first job fair Ohio Means Jobs has hosted since the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s exciting to see the employers being interactive with the job seekers, and the job seekers are so happy to get to meet all of the employers, it’s a good time for everyone,” said Ohio Means Jobs Business Service Specialist, Debbie Greiner.
Organizers say the event was more than just a chance to hand out résumés. It was also an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and make meaningful career connections. For those struggling to land a position, Greiner says don’t lose hope.
“Keep trying if you’re looking for a job, your first interview might not be the one, you just gotta keep trying, don’t give up, make sure your résumé is the best that it can be, and in your interviewing, and if you need help with any of that, us at Ohio Means Jobs can help you,” said Greiner.
Ohio Means Jobs said they plan to host more job fairs in the future in hopes of giving even more people the chance to find the right fit.
