Don “Butch” Bott

Don “Butch” Emory Bott, 82, of Senecaville, passed away Tuesday (July 29, 2025) at his home under the care of Hospice of Guernsey Inc.
He was born May 29, 1943 in Grafton WV, son of the late William Bott Jr. and Wilda M. (McCoy) Bott. He attended Grafton High School.
Butch most recently had worked as the maintenance engineer for a Las Vegas casino for thirteen years. Earlier in his career, he had worked as an HVAC and appliance repairman.
He enjoyed tinkering on just about anything, especially clocks. It was well-known in the family that the first tomato and the first onion of the season were always for Butch.
Butch was a US Navy veteran, having served his country for three years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, LaDonna Gerkin, Billie L. Williamson, and Jean Losh; and a son-in-law, Buck Ruggles.
Butch is survived by his wife, Ann (Austin) Bott, whom he married April 15, 1964; two sons, Bill (Sheila) Bott and Brian Bott; a daughter, Dawn Ruggles; three grandchildren, Billy Bott, Brittany (Patrick) Chaffin, and Rob Bott; and three great-grandchildren, Caiden, Amira, and Kyrah.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Courtney and Hospice of Guernsey for the care and compassion they received during Butch’s illness.
No services will be held at this time.
