Glenwood “Wimpy” Tate

Glenwood ”Wimpy” R Tate, 93 of Cedar Park, TX, formerly of Zanesville, passed peacefully at 4:55 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Cedar Pointe Care Center in Cedar Park, TX. He was born Thursday, November 19, 1931, in Zanesville, the son of Rev. Ralph O Tate and Frances (Norris) Tate. He married Irma V. (Barnett) Tate on Tuesday, March 10, 1953, and was Methodist by faith.
Glenwood served his county as a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Machinist with the Hussman Refrigeration Company for many years. Glenwood was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who cared deeply for his family.
Glenwood is survived by his daughter: Sherry Corral of Cedar Park, TX; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Tate of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenwood was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irma V. Tate who preceded him in death on Saturday, December 6, 2008; two sons, Terry Tate and Kendall Tate; three brothers, Ernie Tate, Terry Tate and James Tate and his sister, Louvinia Smith.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, will Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. A time of refreshment will follow services. Burial will follow at 1:45 PM, in Barnet Ridge Cemetery, Belpre, with Full Military Honors conducted by the Marietta American Legion Post 64, and the Ronnie W. Davis Memorial VFW Post 5108.
