Elton Walters

Elton Walters, a beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 in Albany, New York.
Elton was born March 24, 1957 to the late Floyd and Kathleen (Lee) Walters in Marietta, Ohio. He attended Shenandoah High School. He was a jack of all trades and worked several jobs including mechanic, shop foreman, tow truck driver, and factory work before finally retiring from the Dollar General Warehouse in 2014.
Elton lived a life full of passion and adventure. He was an avid outdoorsman. He cherished the thrill of deer hunting, the quiet moments fishing, four wheeling, and camping around a campfire. He looked forward to getting his camper on the road every spring and attending the annual Bob Evans Festival. If he was not camping, he would usually be found tinkering on vehicles in his building and listening to retro country music. He loved car shows, hot rodding, a good truck/tractor pull, the demolition derby, and his Guernsey County Fair.
More than anything Elton valued the time spent with his family and friends. He was always willing to help someone in need. Elton’s enthusiasm for life, infectious laugh, and dedication to those he loved will leave an indelible mark on all who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving son Jessie (Jennifer) Walters of Carthage, NY; his second wife Elaine Walters of Pleasant City, Ohio; step-children Angela (Jerry) Norman of Pleasant City, Ohio and James Bauer of Cambridge, Ohio; his first wife Bonnie Fry of Carthage, NY; his sister Bonnie Walters of Marietta, Ohio; his grandchildren Kenley Walters; Grace, Lily, Mila, and Luke Norman; and his dear friend Karen Okey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Kathleen Walters; his sister Susan Hill; and his brother Floyd “Billy” Wells.
