OSHP Investigates Fatal Four Vehicle Crash on SR 60

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a 4 vehicle crash that happened on State Route 60 in Blue Rock Township.

According to the Patrol, the crash occurred on August 6th around 1PM when a commercial truck traveling north on SR 60 rear-ended multiple vehicles that were stopped for a construction zone.

The Patrol says 52-year-old Scott Lively, of Zanesville, was driving an International 7400 that struck 46-year-old Mary Russell, of McConnelsville, causing her to be pushed to the left side of the road.

Russel’s vehicle then struck a 2024 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Alena Walters, resulting in the Jeep being pushed to the right side of the road.

The International continued forward, striking the back of a commercial tanker trailer.

Russell succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lively was transported to Genesis Hospital for serious injuries.

The others involved in the crash were transported to Genesis for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
