Gregory “Pinky” Pinkerton

Gregory “Pinky” Pinkerton, 64, of Cannelville, passed away at home on Monday August 11, 2025. He was born on March 28, 1961 in Zanesville. Greg enjoyed the outdoors, riding his bikes and playing with his toys. He loved animals and enjoyed spinning some tall tales. He married Kelly Harper in 1983 and they enjoyed 31 years together until her passing in 2014. Greg is survived by his children Janet (John) Lee, Bobby (Jen) McBrayer, Bettie (John) Roberts, Joshua (Anna) Pinkerton. His partner of the past four years Brenda Rucker. Grandchildren Nikki, Matthew, Breanna, Jacob, Alexis, J.J., Colton, Jaymee, Jenna, MacKenzie, Bobby Jr., and Tucker. Siblings Norma Jean Harrop, Charlotte Kay Reed, Jeff (Joann) Pinkerton, Karl Pinkerton, Pete (Tawnya) Pinkerton. Mother and step-father Jean (Wes) McCauley. Step-children Shayne Eppley and Travis (Crystal) Eppley. Step-grandchildren Gunner, Johnathan, and Gregory Eppley. Several step-brothers and step-sisters in West Virginia.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father Delbert Eugene Pinkerton, one sister LuAnn Bruce, brother-in-law Keith Harper, brother-in-law Bobby Harrop, and his in-laws Dana and Betty Harper. “Daddy’s hands weren’t always gentle, but we’ve come to understand there was always love in Daddy’s hands.” In lieu of flowers, donations may to made to the funeral home to assist with the expenses and a celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday August 18, 2025 at Midtown, located at 34 Potters Alley in Roseville. William Thompson & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
