MCLS Offers Tools to Help You Discover Your Next Favorite Book
ZANESVILLE, OH – If you’re stuck on finding your next new read, the Muskingum County Library System has you covered.
On the home page of the library’s website, you’ll find the “What to Read Next” banner that will take you to the many resources to help you find your next favorite book.
Heather Phillips, the Adult Services Manager, says one of those resources is the “Suggest a Title” form where you can suggest anything from books to movies and CDs for the Library to add to its collection.
“With the Search Ohio being down and you’re not able to get books like you used to, you can ask us to get titles for you.” Phillips said. “If you want a movie or if you want a new book that you haven’t seen in our catalog yet, you can request that.”
Phillips says with the remodel added on top of Search Ohio being down has made their catalog a lot smaller but with the “Suggest a Title” form, they’re able to get direct feedback on what the readers want.
She also says if you’re wanting to get out of your comfort zone, there is also a “What to Read Next” quiz.
“We’ll give you suggestions for authors, we also have some resources like “Novelist” which is fantastic for giving you suggestions of similar authors.” Phillips said. “But also similar books based on the feel, like say you really love a strong female protagonist in your books, or you really love mystery. That’ll give you different suggestions so you can kind of go outside your box and try something different.”
