Nellie Kirkbride

Nellie Rosaline Kirkbride, 92, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at her home on August 28, 2025. She was born on December 17, 1932 in Moxahala, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence and Viola (Saxton) Dunwoody. She worked most of her life as an inspector at Essex Wire, United Technologies, and Lear Corporation. She was a loving wife to Delbert Ben Kirkbride for 70 years, who passed away on December 14, 2024. She is survived by their two sons Mike (Cindy) Kirkbride and Ray Kirkbride and bonus daughter Gayle Kirkbride. She was the proud grandma of her three grandchildren Angie (Jerry) Smith, Keely Kirkbride, and Jacob (Alexis) Kirkbride. Four great-grandchilden Daylin, Dystney, Hayden, and Lucy. One great-greatgranddaughter Dalilah. And a special niece and her husband Michele and Rock Thompson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson Eric Kirkbride and a great-granddaughter Morgan. Her siblings Carl, Alfred, Danny, Edna, Leonard, Helen, Clarence Jr., Bill, Kate, Garnett, Wanda, Waneta, Ethel and Linda. Nellie loved the Lord with all her heart and was a blessing to all who knew her. She loved gardening and sharing her produce, her homemade sauerkraut, and of course her pies with everyone she knew. If you ran into Nellie in the fall you may have had the pleasure of getting to see all the pictures through the years of her painted pumpkin creations. The family would like to thank Julie Zehendner for the excellent love and care that she gave Nellie during the last few years. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Union Cemetery.
