A new CrossFit Gym opens that is veteran owned and focuses on community
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A former Marine has opened a new CrossFit gym on Grove Avenue in Zanesville with a focus on community.
Arc Reactor Fitness has been a life long dream of Kendall Kane. The former Marine turned business owner. spent the last year preparing for todays ceremony. With a soft opening in July, Arc Reactor Fitness celebrated its official opening today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Members and trainers came out to celebrate the occasion for what Kane calls a community based gym.
“We strive to get better together so no one’s in here just for themselves. They’re in here to help everybody else get better too,” Kane said. “So, if I see you, you know, struggling through a work-out, I might just stop what I’m doing and start working out with you, along side you if it’s just us. If it’s a bigger class you’re going to have people encouraging you to finish as we go.”
The gym already has around 130 members with three trainers and the success is not lost on Kane who also serves as one of the three trainers. The veteran and entrepreneur talks about the surreal experience of seeing this dream come to life.
“Being able to give back to, like, my local community and continue to serve is something that I’m very proud of and happy to do. So, seeing it flourish this quickly, for me, it’s been really cool and I’m very grateful for it,” Kane said.
