Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Kristoff

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week is a young pup but he already knows a couple of tricks.

Meet Kristoff! He’s a 9-month-old pup who’s neutered, does well with kids and other dogs, and is ready for his forever home.

Doug McQuaid, a volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, says they’ve learned through working with Kristoff that he is highly treat motivated and already knows a few commands; sit, shake, and down.

“He loves treats.” McQuaid said. “He will sit, very quickly when he sees the treats, that he knows he’s going to be receiving them.”

McQuaid also says currently they are at full capacity at the Adoption Center, but there’s a way you can help.

He says if you’ve been thinking about getting a dog but weren’t 100% sure it was the right fit, you can volunteer to become a foster family.

“We’re looking for volunteers, families to actually foster and with that being said,” McQuaid explained. “So many times you find out the many different things great about our, what we call, pets at the K-9 Adoption Center. It lets us answer a lot more questions to people who love to come in and try to adopt a dog. And a lot of times you find out that you have been a major part in the adoption of our dogs.”

McQuaid said they also still have some dog food available, if you are in need.

The K-9 Adoption Center is open on Tuesdays through Sundays, closed on Mondays for deep cleaning.

If you are interested in adopting Kristoff, becoming a volunteer, or for more information you can reach out to the K-9 Adoption Center at (740)-453-0273.
