Mary Wagner

Mary Elizabeth Wagner, 92, of Nashport, passed at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Oaks at Bethesda.

She was born on Thursday, July 27, 1933, in Carlyle, KS, the daughter of the late Amel Shapel and Minnie Plumb Shapel.

Mary helped with the Boy Scout camps and she enjoyed working with the boys. She was an avid learner, always up to learning something new. In her free time, she loved to color, do puzzles and cross-stitching.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sheila Boyer, Claudia Wagner and Jeannette Householder; four grandchildren, Kenneth Hall, Lisa Lawerance, Robert Householder and Phillip Householder; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Burton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Claude H. Wagner; sister Ethel Juanita Byfield; two brothers, William R. Shapel and John H. Shapel.

Per Mary’s wishes, a cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mary’s name to your local Continuing Education Facility.
