Visit Zanesville Announces Muskingum County Tourism Development Grant

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced a brand new Grant Program.

The 2026 Tourism Development Grant Program will provide financial assistance to for-profits, non-profits, as well as municipal organizations to help promote tourism across Muskingum County.

Jordin Harmer, the CVB Manager, says they’re very excited to be able to give local businesses the opportunity to see their ideas come to life.

“We’ve just rolled that out and we’re very excited.” Harmer said. “This grant is aimed to provide businesses with funding so they can have events and things that are going to bring in visitors to Muskingum County.”

Harmer says organizations can apply for up to a $1,500 grant to bring things in like programs or live entertainment.

She says if you are interested in applying for this grant, it will officially open on October 1st, but you can head to their website now to double check on the requirements.

“We have a lot of people that ask us daily, what does the Bed Tax, our funding, what does that go towards?” Harmer explained. “And this is one of the avenues that we’re able to show that it is going right back into the community.”
