ZPD Apprehends Fugitives After an Hourlong Standoff

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Police Department apprehended three fugitives from Oregon this morning resulting from a woman being identified during a traffic stop. 

Zanesville Police Detective Sgt. Phil Michel said the traffic stop led to a warrant being obtained for a residence on Wheeling Avenue, which was executed by the Zanesville Special Response Team.

Upon execution of the warrant, two men were arrested after an hour-long standoff.

All three individuals were wanted for felony assault charges. 

The case remains under investigation.
