Live Your Dream 2025

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local organization is offering financial assistance to women who are attaining higher education.

The $1,000 dollar, ‘Live Your Dream’ award is an annual grant that the Zanesville Soroptimist Club has been presenting to local women who are actively striving for a better life for themselves and their families. 

“The Live Your Dream Award has been around for 50 years. This is an award that’s targeted for women only that are the sole providers of their families and have at least one dependent with them. They have to be enrolled in a skills training program or a vocational program or working on an undergraduate degree. They also need to show and demonstrate financial need,” Zanesville Soroptimist Awards Program Chairperson Valencia Clark said.

The Zanesville Soroptimist Club has advocated for women in multiple ways since 1942 and has been distributing the Live Your Dream award, which promotes educational advancement, for the past 50 years.

“Our application portal is open through November the 15th and can be found online. They can go on and see soroptimistzanesville.org, it can be found there. It can be found on our Facebook page, as well as just putting in the application name Soroptimist Live Your Dream award application. All of these applications have to be processed through the internet and submitted that way,” Clark said.

One of the major fundraisers for the organization is the upcoming fall craft sale, which will feature over 25 vendors. The event will be held Saturday, October 4th, at the First Christian Church, located at the intersection of Military and Dresden Roads.
