Self-Care for Success

DRESDEN, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System presents many informative programs and events across their many branches that are aimed to enlighten members of all ages.
One of those events will take place 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dresden Library and will feature local Hypno-Therapist and Author Elizabeth Garvey explaining how adults who manifest positivity can cultivate successful results.
“We all need self-care,” Garvey said. “We all have things going on in life. You know, busy families, parents getting home from work late at night, trying to figure out what to make for dinner and get their kids to practice and you know, thinking about self-care but never getting there. So I give them actionable steps where they can actually schedule out their day better. Where they can get past indecision or decision fatigue. And I help them learn how to create motivation, when there is none.”
Garvey defines self-care as being in touch with your mindset first in order to take care of the priorities and eliminate the distractions and blockages that keeps us from caring for ourselves.
“What’s important about this is I get to the heart of why we don’t do self-care,” Garvey said. “I get to the heart of what is preventing people, the blocks. There’s six heart-blocks that we deal with in life. Six things that keep us from moving forward, where we need to be. And one of those heart blocks is blocked emotions. You know another is stress and anxiety. You know, that speaks to everyone in the world. There’s not one single person who doesn’t go through a stressful time.”
Garvey noted that the event will help attendees become more aware of their mindset and help them to better recognize some of the blockages that prevent them from reaching their highest potential.
