Joanne Baughman 0001

Betty Joanne Baughman, age 80, of Crooksville, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, following a three-year battle with cancer. Born on August 30, 1945, in Zanesville, Ohio, she lived a vibrant life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Joanne was a remarkable woman who brought joy to everyone around her. Following high school graduation, Joanne went on to complete training as a cosmetologist and beautician. She then went on to spend the next 20 plus years working for TRW-PCC Airfoils where she would later retire. A spirited soul, Joanne had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid gambler who found delight in playing the slots, especially her favorite game, Buffalo. In her leisure time, she adored getting lost in a good book and always found time to shower her grandchildren with love and attention, embracing their interests and hobbies with enthusiasm. Shopping was another joy of hers, where she enjoyed finding the perfect gift to brighten someone’s day. Joanne’s infectious spirit and compassionate heart will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the lives she touched.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her husband of 61 years-of which she was incredibly proud, Mike Baughman; her sons, Jeff (Lisa) Baughman and Chris (Jan) Baughman; her siblings, Sherri Aichele, Rick (Marcia) Aichele and Susie Fell; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Lindsay (Clayton) Gillespie, Michael Baughman, Kaden Baughman and Allison Baughman. Joanne also leaves behind a very special niece, Kemery.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her two sisters, Patti Bobb and Tammy Dilley.

Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects, from 2-6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Joanne’s life, sharing stories, laughter, and the joy she brought into their lives. Following services, Joanne will be cremated.
