Deborah Lee (Zimmerman) McCoy, 71, of Groveport, Ohio, was born December 29, 1953, and passed away at her home, September 10, 2025. She was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church and a charter member of Antioch Jordan Baptist Church. Deborah was a dedicated registrar, historian and convention organizer for the Ohio Baptist General Convention. Debbie retired from Columbus City School as a teacher of Computer Sciences, History and Driver’s Education. She was an active member of the Columbus Education Association. Debroah was the manager of the local R&B group, Mercedees Binns. Deb was a pioneer in desktop publishing and founded McZimm Inc.

Deborah is preceded in death by her daughter, Lovelee Lawanda Kirk; granddaughter, Collyn Mi Love Hawkins; parents, Leonard and Wanda Zimmerman; former husbands, Robert Kirk, Harold McCoy; brother-in-law, Larry Baker, Sr.; uncles, Augustus Zimmerman, William Zimmerman, James Reeves, Clifford Holcomb and Harold Ragland; and aunt, Rachel Zimmerman.

Deborah leaves to celebrate her life, her son-shine, Daryl L. Z. McCoy; granddaughter, Cameron Mi Joy Hawkins; brothers, Michael (Tonia) Zimmerman, Sr. and Dwayne Zimmerman; sisters, Twila Fultz and Elouise Baker; nephews, Larry (Helen) Baker, Jr., William (Brittany) Baker, Michael Zimmerman, Jr., Matthew (Dreanna) Zimmerman, Sr., Michael Bridges and Cary Fultz; nieces, Chelsea (Derryon) Smith, Natasha (Joseph) McCaskill and Melissa Zimmerman; aunts, Juanita Zimmerman, Beatrice Holcomb, Lucille Ragland and Alva Reeves; special friends, Winston White and Johnnie Houston; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and the Antioch Jordan Baptist Church Family, the Ohio Baptist General Convention, and her Eastern Union missionary Baptist Association and Jewelry Class.

You may call on the family from 9am until 10am on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 2283 Sunbury Road. Homegoing celebration will be starting at 10 am. In honor of Debbie, please wear something RED, WHITE or BLACK (her favorite colors). Burial will follow the funeral in North Lawn Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
