James Keeton

James Phillip Keeton, 64, of Byesville, passed away Wednesday (September 24, 2025) at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell.

He was born November 23, 1960 in Ashland KY, son of the late Naomi (Keeton) Presswood and Harvey Hester Sr.

James was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He dearly loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristie Keeton; a brother, Donnie Keeton; and a sister, Debra Chambers.

James is survived by his wife, Joyce (Hupp) Keeton; four sons, William (Shelley) Hupp of Utah, James Keeton Jr. of Byesville, Joseph (Johanna) Keeton of Delaware, and Scott Keeton of Byesville; a brother, Harvey; two sisters, Vicki and Linda; and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday (September 28, 2025) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m.
