Betty Myers

Betty L. Myers, age 92, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, passed away on September 26, 2025 at Helen Purcell Assisted Living Facility in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born April 28, 1933, in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Foster and Mabel (Romine) Wolford and a 1951 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Betty was a graduate of Ohio University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master Degree in Education. Betty retired from teaching in 1998 after working for Jefferson Elementary for 24 years. In 1989 Betty was honored as Tri-Valley Teacher of the Year and nominated for 1989 Ohio Teacher of the Year. Betty was a member of Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church where she was able to serve the Lord and the church in many capacities including Deacon, Trustee and Elder.
Betty was a Past Matron of Frazeysburg Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, as well as a member of the Olive Branch of the Order of Eastern Star in Duncan Falls. She was a life member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Muskingum County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Frazeysburg Fifty Club.
Betty loved spending time with her family. For many years, she attended many school functions for her children and grandchildren. Betty very seldom missed one of their sporting events.
Surviving are her two sons, Dr. Douglas (Martha) Myers of Pickerington, Ohio and Derek (Charlotte) Myers of Pataskala, Ohio; five granddaughters, Megan, Shannon, Lindsey, Kelsey and Kiley, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased family members include her husband H. Dean Myers, whom she married November 23, 1952 and who died November 17, 1989; her parents, Foster and Mabel (Romine) Wolford; her in-laws, Guy and Edna (Hupburn) Myers and her brother, Donnie Wolford.
Friends and family may call from 10 AM to 12 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Homes, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will immediately follow calling hours at NOON, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the funeral home with sons officiating.
Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband and parents in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
