Dale McDonald
Dale Edward McDonald, 90, of Frazeysburg, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday morning, September 29, 2025 at his home.
Born May 16, 1935 in Fallsbury Township of Licking County, he was the son of the late William L. and Eva L. (Ashcraft) McDonald. Dale worked in the Oilfield for several drilling companies, including Claude Wheeler, Les Lothers, Wilbur McDonald, Oxford Oil, Shady Beatty, Leon Ashcraft and Denny Zohman. He also worked at Owens Corning for 11 years before retiring to enjoy life. One of those enjoyments was helping his sons as a roust-about as the boys were drilling or setting wells to pump. Dale enjoyed going to Crispin’s every day, always coming home with new treasures.
Dale was a kind , compassionate, and gentle man who loved his family with all he had. He liked history and knew his family’s history going way back. He was a collector of many things and a collector of friends. He prayed for his family as well as his friends and caregivers daily.
Dale’s family would like to thank all the people that watched out for him, from the workers at Bob Evans on Rt 79 that loved to visit with him to the workers at KFC on Cedar Street who helped him get his car doors unlocked and the guys at Crispin’s who always had a new treasure waiting for him. Special thanks to the Ladies that took care of he and Mildred for the past 5 years Becky, Beth, Amy, Anna, and Earlene. They would also like to thank the nurses, aides, doctors, social workers and pastors at Ohio Hospice for taking such good care of him. He was always proud that he “Graduated” from hospice when he had Covid but was thankful for their loving care during Mildred’s dementia and now his.
Surviving are his two sons, Michael D. and Lisa McDonald and Gregory and Nancy McDonald, all of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren, Dustin (Sabrina) McDonald, Joshua McDonald, Jeremiah McDonald, Elizabeth (Tim) Anderson, and Breanna (Daniel) Siekbert; Fourteen great grandchildren, Dusty, Mia, Quinten, Wyatt, Tanner, Emma, Noah, Wesley, Carson, Ava, Bo, Millie, Ty, and Lucy; a brother in-law, Ron Miller and many friends and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Irene (Miller) McDonald whom he married July 1, 1956 and who died December 20, 2022 and a grandson, Seth McDonald.
Calling hours will be 11am to 1pm Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn and Pastor Mike Robinson officiating. Dale will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mildred, in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
