CAMBRIDGE, OHIO – October is Manufacturing Month and Ohio is celebrating the people and products that keep our economy strong.

The Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation hosted a Manufacturing Appreciation Luncheon on October 1st, at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center. Ohio Lt. Governor Jim Tressel was the keynote speaker, highlighting Ohio’s proud role in the industry.

“In human history, the pendulum swings back and forth. Right? The pendulum has swung to Ohio in large part because of our great location, we can distribute to most of the population of our country. We’re in the center spot if you will, but also our natural resources. with our water, our energy, and with our great workforce. We’re the prime spot for manufacturing. We need to celebrate that. It’s the reason Ohio’s great; it’s the reason our country’s great, and we have to remind ourselves of that.” Ohio Lt. Governor, Jim Tressel said.

Ohio ranks third nationally in manufacturing, contributing billions each year. Leaders say it brings growth, opportunity, and keeps our communities thriving.

“Sometimes, I think we take for granted what makes our communities boom. The opportunities people have to raise families and to live in great communities. It’s because of our manufacturing and all of the various entities that make of our economic development.” Lt. Governor Tressel said.

Manufacturing will continue to drive Ohio forward, one innovation at a time.
