ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society is celebrating all of their felines this month with a wicked special.

For the entire month of October the Shelter will be running their “Meow-loween” Adoption Special; which includes your cat’s alteration surgery, microchip, flea and tick treatments, rabies vaccines, nail trim, and ear cleaning all for $35.

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter, says they currently have over 100 cats ranging in ages from kitten to adult.

One of those adult cats looking for his forever home is George, an affectionate boy who just wants a lap to snuggle on.

“You know, there’s nothing better than having an animal in your home, whether it’s a dog or a cat.” Gibson said. “It all depends on what you’re ready for, we’ve got these little ones here, we’ve got George who’s 3-years-old that his family had to give him up because a family member had passed. So we’ve got everything for anyone here, we’ve got the babies who are 4 weeks and we’ve got kitties up to 8 years of age.”

The Shelter is also putting the final touches on the 2nd Annual Music for Mutts happening on Tuesday, October 7th.

Gibson says they will open their parking lot at 5:30PM and the event will kick off at 6 with music from the TDT Party Band as well as good food all for a $20 donation.

She also says they will be rolling into November with their upcoming Disco In-FUR-no Event at the Lind Arena.

“It’s going to be at the Lind Arena, those folks have been fantastic with us, again Park National comes through and they’re going to be covering all the veterans’ entries to come in.” Gibson said. “Which is only $15 for adults, kids can get in for $5 under the age of 12, and skates are a $2 rental.”
