ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The African Children’s Choir is a Christian musical group that tours the world experiencing foreign cultures with the opportunity to share part of their own.

The choir will return to Zanesville later this month to emanate their enthusiasm for life and inspire audience members through their own distinctive brand of entertainment.

“These children represent so many young children in Uganda and they have their bright faces that shine with a lot of hope for a better future. Because this is what the choir gives them. The hope. People can see it from these children’s faces, when they smile, when they speak, when they share their dreams it’s very evident that there’s hope and there’s a light burning in them,” African Children’s Choir Tour Leader Daniel Tamale said.

The 17 choir members range from 8 to 11 years old and many of them speak multiple languages. The choir is sponsored by an organization called Music For Life, who uses the proceeds to bring healthcare and education into the communities from which these children were born.

“So we mostly sing the hymns,” Tamale said. “So hymns like Turn Your Eyes On Jesus, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, In Christ Alone. At the end of the day, at the end of the show, it’s not just us who are impacted by their praises but they will also be impacted by our praises. But by also the testimonies and the love that they will get to hear and receive at this show.”

The African Children’s Choir will be performing at 7 p.m. Friday, October 24th and 9:30 a.m. Sunday, October 26th, at the Coburn United Methodist Church located at 3618 Maple Avenue in Zanesville. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
